Solving Baby Sleep Problems It's Time to Sleep
Lack of sleep can lead to many problems like the losses in concentration, lower productivity in your work or business, grumpiness it can lead to illness and in some cases strain your relationship all because of a crying baby. This is the potential cost of doing nothing. Newborn babies will spend most of their time asleep and are programmed to sleep in short bursts of about 2-3 hours between feeds, night and day.
Your baby will require the parent's attention during the night for feeding and settling for the first few months and some babies even later. Sleep routines or sleep patterns for newborns can be as varied as they are for parents. The approach you take will depend on the sleep choices you make, such as where your baby will sleep (in there own bed, in the parents bed, in a bed in the parents room).
A Remedy For Child Sleep Problems
Some parents decide for very little or completely no routine at all, as they are content to follow their baby's own sleep pattern. Others find that a very simple but flexible routine seems to help their baby sleep more peacefully, and helps them to feel more in control. With a newborn it best to be flexible about when your baby sleeps and feeds. When your newborn baby wakes up, give them a feed, change there nappy and then make time for talk and play (at night-time you should choose not to play and instead focus on re-settling).
With babies, playtime might just be a quiet cuddle or some time stretching out kicking and playing on a blanket. Little babies get tired after about 10-20 minutes. You can judge when your baby is starting to get tired by signs of there body language to see when they have had enough. The key is to follow your baby's lead about when to feed, play and sleep, and to begin doing these things in a similar order through the day.
